NC State got some good news at the end of an otherwise rough recruiting week when offensive lineman Austin Blaske committed to the Wolfpack on Saturday. Blaske just recently took a visit to Raleigh.

Blaske plays for South Effingham High School (effing HAM! is not a bad exclamation when things go sideways; gonna have to remember that one) in Guyton, Georgia. NC State now has three commitments from that state, one shy of its total from North Carolina.
While Blaske is a three-star recruit in the composite rankings—those are an average of all the major recruiting services—he is a four-star prospect in 247Sports’ rankings. They like him quite a bit more than everybody else, regarding him as a top-400 player nationally.
He is the starting left tackle for his high school and figures to stick at the tackle spot given his frame—he’s listed at 6’5 and 278 pounds. Big kid with some room to grow still.
