The arrival of June means that NC State will be hosting camps for prospects, so we may see a flurry of activity on the recruiting front in the next few weeks. The Wolfpack picked up a verbal commitment on Thursday from wide receiver Stephen Gosnell, a consensus three-star prospect from Pilot Mountain, NC.
Gosnell showcased his versatility as a junior for East Surry High, playing quarterback, running back, and wide receiver. (Not all at the same time, though. That would be one heck of a thing.) He ran for more than 1,000 yards and accounted for 39 touchdowns.
Per 247Sports, NC State’s closest competition for Gosnell was Wake Forest. He also holds FBS offers from Appalachian State and Cincinnati. He is listed at 6’2 and 198 pounds.
State is up to nine verbal commitments for 2020, including three wide receivers, led by four-star Porter Rooks. Five of the nine verbals are from in-state kids.
