NC State picked up its second commitment in as many days when defensive tackle Davin Vann verbaled to the Wolfpack on Friday evening. Vann plays right down the road at Cary High School.
I want to say Thank you to my Mom, Dad, Gma,Gman, siblings, friends and coaches (all of them) and most importantly my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Without them I would be nowhere. Thank you for all offers I received, with that being said, I am 100% committed to @PackFootball pic.twitter.com/CJ9h2BNYRs

He doesn’t currently have a ranking in the composite (which will change, no doubt), though he is a three-star prospect in 247Sports’ 2020 class rankings. 247 also considers him the No. 18 overall prospect in North Carolina.
In any event, I wouldn’t worry much about those rankings at this point, especially since we’ve routinely seen Dave Doeren and his staff identify plenty of undervalued talents over the years. If they get a kid in camp and like him enough after seeing him in person to offer a scholarship, that’s all I need to know.
Louisville appears to be his only other power-conference offer right now, and he also holds an offer from Appalachian State. I’m sure neither is coincidence given that Doeren lost coaches to both schools this offseason.
Vann is listed at 6’2 and 273 pounds by 247Sports, and according to WRAL, he piled up 25 tackles for loss as a junior.
