Hey, some good news! Feels like there hasn’t been much of that for a while. NC State picked up a verbal commitment from in-state defensive back Mario Love on Friday afternoon. According to 247Sports, Love holds offers from Louisville, UNC, Duke, Tennessee, Penn State, and Georgia Tech, among others.
Love is listed at 5’10 and 170 pounds by 247Sports, and as a consensus three-star prospect, he’s considered one of the top 50 prospects in North Carolina. He was a MaxPreps freshman All-American in 2017 and has plenty of recruiting interest since that encouraging debut.
Here are some highlights from his junior season:
Love was on hand for NC State’s junior day back in January. He is the third player to join NC State’s 2021 recruiting class, and all three are from North Carolina. Receivers Jakolbe Baldwin and Julian Gray committed back in March.
