NC State dipped back into New Jersey for its latest recruiting addition with the commitment of class of 2021 running back Demie Sumo. Sumo has had an offer from State for a while now, and also holds offers from Temple, Toledo, and Buffalo.

Sumo spoke to 247’s Brian Dohn about his decision:

“I really like the versatility and how they will use my talent,” Sumo said. “I like how they flex out the running back and they run something similar to what we are running in high school, but even if it was not, I can adapt to it. I can do whatever they need me to do. I can adapt.”

Sumo actually had a chance earlier in high school to visit NC State for a camp, which was helpful to the Wolfpack under the current circumstances, and he also spoke with fellow Jerseyan (Jerseyite? Bon Jovian?) Devin Leary about the program.

He’s listed at 6’0 and 190 pounds by 247Sports and is a consensus three-star prospect.
