NC State picks up commitment from 4-star running back Michael Allen

Wolfpack football crootin’ is so hot right now.

And so it was that Dave Doeren decreed, “let the June flow on.” The football program has had an excellent couple of weeks on the recruiting trail and added to its success Friday night with the commitment of four-star in-state running back Michael Allen.

Allen plays for JH Rose in Greenville, and it’s always nice to snag somebody from ECU’s doorstep, y’know, just to remind the Pirates where they are in the pecking order.

Allen visited NC State unofficially last week and is scheduled to visit ECU on the 26th, per 247Sports, though there might not be much point to that anymore. His offer sheet is impressive, as you’d expect from a consensus four-star prospect: NC State, Wisconsin, Louisville, South Carolina, Tennessee, UNC, Duke, Virginia, etc. (If you’re a running back and Wisconsin likes you, that’s probably a good sign.)

Michael Allen is listed at 5’9 and 203 pounds; he’s a top-250 kid nationally, and a top-10 player in North Carolina. NC State is up to five in-state commits for 2022, and all five are ranked as top-25 prospects in North Carolina. The Wolfpack has three commitments from four-star players, and Allen is now the highest-rated recruit in State’s class.
