Monday was a busy day what with all the baseball success and whathaveyou, but as the football program reminded us, we’re still in the thick of ‘crootin season. NC State picked up a verbal commitment from in-state defensive back Isaiah Crowell yesterday.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s probably because Isaiah’s older brother, Micah, was a part of NC State’s 2021 recruiting class. (A pretty big part, too, as Micah was a consensus four-star recruit.)

While Micah may end up on the offensive side of the ball, Isaiah is being recruited as a defensive back. He’s listed at 5’10 and 180 pounds, making him a bit slighter than his brother, who is 6’2 and 205.

Isaiah Crowell has offers from Mississippi, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Georgia Tech, and Syracuse, among others. No doubt the appeal of both staying close to home and playing with his brother played a big part in his decision to commit to the Wolfpack.

Isaiah is a consensus three-star prospect and a top-20 player in North Carolina.
