NC State keeps on making additions to its 2022 football recruiting class this month. After picking up Isaiah Crowell on Monday, the Wolfpack got a verbal commitment from juco defensive back Darius Edmundson on Tuesday.

Edmundson played at Southern Nash—where Bam Knight went to high school—but ended up at Louisburg College to work on his grades. Recently he earned a scholarship offer from the Wolfpack, and it didn’t take him long to make his decision after that.
He told Michael Clark of Pack Pride that he’d had his eye on State, and that he’s really happy to be staying close to home:
“Just getting the offer and me always wanting to go to NC State and be in that atmosphere — it means so much. It’s a whole different level and I’m so thankful for the opportunity. This road — going the JUCO route — it was really tough. Now knowing I’m going somewhere close to home where my parents can come and see me play is truly a blessing.”
He also said that he’s been told by State’s coaches that he could potentially play anywhere in the secondary, but they’re most likely to slot him in at safety or nickel. Edmundson is listed at 5’11 and 170 pounds by 247Sports.
Edmundson is the third defensive back to commit to State this cycle, joining Crowell and Jackson Vick. The Wolfpack has nine commitments in its 2022 class and the group currently ranks 28th in the 247 Composite.
