While the whole baseball fiasco was unfolding over the last few days, there was some actual good news elsewhere: the commitment of consensus four-star defensive lineman Brandon Cleveland, who picked the Wolfpack on Friday afternoon.

Pretty impressive get since you won’t often see NC State snag a highly-regarded player out of Florida. He was previously committed to Miami, but decommitted at the tail end of March, a few weeks after NC State offered him a scholarship. Cleveland was in Raleigh for an official visit back on June 11.
His offer list includes Florida State, Auburn, LSU, Penn State, Oregon, and Tennessee, among plenty of others. In the 247 Composite rankings, he’s in the top-350 nationally as well as the top 50 among defensive linemen and within the state of Florida.
During the 2020 season, Cleveland racked up 46 tackles, including 11 sacks among 18 tackles for loss. He’s listed at 6’3 and 269 pounds by 247Sports.
