Amid the NC State baseball hubbub yesterday, the football program added another prospect to its 2022 recruiting class. Lake Minneola (FL) defensive lineman Nick Campbell verbaled to NC State on Sunday after completing his official visit in Raleigh.
The rising senior is listed at 6’3 and 260 pounds by 247Sports, and he is a consensus three-star prospect. The 247Sports ratings like him more than most, evaluating him as a high three-star as well as a top-65 player in the state of Florida.
Campbell holds an impressive offer sheet, and also has planned visits to Virginia, West Virginia, and Nebraska later this month, per 247. He could cancel those visits now that he’s committed, but I’d imagine he’ll still go see what those places have to offer.
Campbell told Pack Pride’s Michael Clark that both defensive line coach Charley Wiles and Director of Player Personnel Merci Falaise were big factors in his decision to commit to NC State.
He finished the 2020 season with 70 tackles, including seven sacks.
