NC State added not one but two defensive prospects to its 2022 recruiting class on Tuesday, and the Wolfpack now has picked up four verbal commitments since the beginning of June.
Linebackers Daejuan Thompson and Torren Wright were the additions today, with Wright the more highly-regarded of the two. Wright is a consensus four-star recruit and a top-250 player nationally, as well as a top-10 player in North Carolina this cycle.
I am blessed and truly thankful to say I am 1000% committed to @PackFootball #WPN pic.twitter.com/6xPAiSm0VC

Normally you might worry about a four-star kid potentially looking elsewhere at some point, but as he says here, he’s 1000% committed, and we can all agree that’s a lot of percent. So I don’t see anything to fret about.
Wright is listed at 6’3 and 215 pounds by 247Sports, and while he spent some time this past season at receiver, his future is expected to be on defense.
Thompson, who does not have a composite ranking yet, is rated as a three-star by 247. He’s listed at 6’3 and 190 pounds. And he is a natural fit at NC State, given the fact that he plays for the Whiteville Wolfpack.
