After an excellent June on the recruiting trail, NC State picked up its first commitment of July on Friday, picking up a verbal from Chapin (SC) running back Bennett Galloway. He gives NC State two commits at running back for 2022.
After speaking with my family I’m excited to announce my commitment to NC state and proud to be joining the Wolfpack‼️‼️@CoachJGentry @CoachKurtRoper @StateCoachD @LouatTheState @HighSchoolBlitz @PalmettoPrepsSC pic.twitter.com/R4OiaeIDm6

Galloway is a bit unheralded at this point but if you haven’t learned to trust Dave Doeren and his staff on guys like this, I don’t know what to tell you. Galloway impressed at camp in Raleigh last month and if the staff offers a kid that they’ve seen up close like that, no doubt they’re confident that he can become a contributor.
Galloway, who is listed at 5’11 and 190, does not have a composite ranking, but is a three-star prospect in 247Sports’ evaluation. He ran a 4.45 40 at NC State’s camp. He also holds offers from Army and Navy, while State is the first power-conference school to offer.
NC State is up to 11 commitments for ‘22.
