NC State continues to build out their 2024 football roster, adding a pair of defensive transfers over the last 24 hours. Maryland defensive back Corey Coley Jr. will be spending his last season in Raleigh, while JUCO linebacker Wyatt Wright will bring his hard-hitting style to Carter-Finley next fall.

Coley was a three-star recruit out of the state of Florida in 2021, but with an impressive offer sheet that included the Wolfpack, Notre Dame, LSU, and Tennessee. He’s played cornerback for the Terrapins over the last three seasons, starting six games and totaling 37 tackles with three pass breakups.

Wright, who has two years of eligibility remaining, is a Top 10 ranked JUCO linebacker from Mississippi Gulf Coast CC. He played his freshman year at Fresno City College in 2022. In 2023 at MGC, Wright tallied 82 tackles and 4.0 TFL in 10 games.

Both Coley and Wright figure to, at the least, be immediate rotational contributors with significantly higher upside. They are the first two defensive transfer additions the Wolfpack have made for the 2024 season.
