It's jarring to see the way the top 25 has been reshuffled after last weekend's chaos. Mississippi and Mississippi State both in the top five, TCU up 16 spots into the top 10, Arizona (!) checking in at No. 10 (which, lol, but hey good for them), Alabama down at seven.
It's kind of like when you get a few years into a video game dynasty with your school of choice and EA Sports' simulator starts reshaping the college football landscape into an absurd experiment that could never happen in real life. There's Akron in the top five this year! Huh, they really came out of nowhere. Tulane in the top 20! How 'bout that Green Wave.
That was one of my favorite things about those games. Kept things fresh. The power programs don't need to dominate the top five every year; why not sprinkle the Wyomings of the world in there. Besides, in a virtual universe where I have NC State winning 10+ games every year, I suppose some random MAC school hanging out in the top 10 isn't so ridiculous.
/end dumb tangent
Back in the real world, the 3:30 time slot on Saturday is looking like a potential monster of shit-I-need-like-three-more-TVs proportions. And of course that's when we're playing. Agile handling of the remote control will be essential.
