NC State's defense will have to live without one of its veterans up front for a second consecutive game. Defensive tackle T.Y. McGill was suspended for two games prior to the Louisville contest for an unspecified violation of team rules, and served the first game on Saturday. He'll be sitting out the Syracuse game as well.
The TY McGill 2 game suspension is not related to the BB gun incident where 7 were suspended. McGill sat vs. Lville and will miss Syracuse.

I guess whatever he did was worth twice the punishment for being involved in a damage-causing BB gun fight.
McGill is third on the team in tackles for loss in 2014 and leads the defense with three quarterback hurries. The beleaguered defense definitely could use his help against the Orange, who rank in the top half of the league in rushing yards per game and yards per carry. The Orange have averaged 5+ yards per carry in two of their three league games (FSU, Wake).
The Orange also obliterated NC State's front seven last season in ways best left unmentioned, though their rushing offense hasn't been as good in 2014. Everything will work out swell, I have no doubt.
