NC State will be missing a lineman on both sides of the ball this weekend. Dave Doeren said Monday that guard Joe Thuney is going to sit for the fourth consecutive game while he continues to recover from the flu, and defensive tackle Monty Nelson has a minor injury.
Doeren expects both to be back and ready to play against Louisville the week after this one, but he also thought as recently as late last week that Thuney would be well enough to play against Clemson.
In Thuney's absence, true freshman Tony Adams will get another start, and Nelson's absence will again press true frosh B.J. Hill into more action. Nelson did not play a down against Clemson, and Hill was on the field for a season-high 40 snaps as a result. Both Adams and Hill are listed as starters on the depth chart for the BC game that was released by NC State on Monday.
