Unfortunately, the Belk Bowl didn't work out for NC State, and neither did the Military Bowl. The Pack's slide down the ACC's bowl pecking order landed State in the St. Petersburg Bitcoin Bowl, per ESPN's Brett McMurphy, where Central Florida will be the opponent. And that's not bad, everybody! We can win that game! Would have been nice to stay closer to home, of course, but this ain't Detroit or Shreveport, either.
Central Florida finished this season at 9-3 overall and 7-1 in the AAC, including its miracle hail mary victory over East Carolina to close out the regular season. The last time NC State played the Knights, State prevailed in Orlando, 28-21, back in 2010.
UCF has been excellent defensively in 2014 but pretty bad at moving the football, so we could have a good low-scoring game, if you're into that sort of thing. The Knights have a bad, bad loss to UConn on their resume, but also wins against BYU, Temple, and ECU--all of them bowl eligible.
