Day one of the NFL draft did not result in any selections from NC State, but we knew that was going to be the case going in. Friday they'll conduct the second and third rounds, where Dontae Johnson could land--most likely somewhere in the third round, if he goes on the second day at all.
And he might be the only Wolfpack player to be selected in the draft. It was nice for a couple years there when we could expect multiple guys to go in the early rounds. This year makes it painfully clear how much ground State has make up in order to get back to being reasonably competitive within the ACC. It can be done, but whew, it's gonna take some time.
