We're still waiting on a depth chart from Dave Doeren and company since none was released prior to the start of camp, but that wait probably ends this week, according to Doeren. And he had better not be foolin' because I need football substance. Feed me, coach. Feed me all the football stuff you got.
Doeren offered a preview of the depth chart with his remarks after practice Tuesday, giving some insight into how things will look along both lines and in the secondary. The offensive line is all but set, with only the right tackle spot to be settled. Alex Barr and Tyson Chandler are battling there, while Rob Crisp will handle left tackle, Joe Thuney will be at left guard, Quinton Schooley will start and center, and true freshman Tony Adams will start at right guard.
There is plenty of experience in that group, but it seems like that's the case every year, and it hasn't really materialized into better results on the field. It would really help a lot if that changed this season.
In addition to Adams, Doeren mentioned several other true freshmen who could either start or figure into the rotation: B.J. Hill and Justin Jones at defensive tackle, Germaine Pratt at safety, Kentavius Street at defensive end. Kind of frightening and exciting at the same time.
