The report from earlier in the week was accurate: NC State does have a Friday game against Virginia Tech this fall, and that'll be on Oct. 9. It'll be a quick turnaround for the Wolfpack, which opens ACC play at home against Louisville on the prior Saturday. The ACC released the full league schedule on Thursday morning.
NC State's full schedule, with dates:
Sept. | 5 | TROY |
12 | EASTERN KENTUCKY | |
19 | @ Old Dominion | |
26 | @ South Alabama | |
Oct. | 3 | LOUISVILLE |
9 | @ Virginia Tech (Friday) | |
17 | OPEN | |
24 | @ Wake Forest | |
31 | CLEMSON | |
Nov. | 7 | @ Boston College |
14 | @ Florida State | |
21 | SYRACUSE | |
28 | UNC-CHAPEL HILL |
On the other side of the Tech game, NC State will have a bye to once again avoid the State Fair, so that's a whole lot of time to prepare for Wake Forest. I just hope it's enough time for somebody to figure out what has plagued the team in Winston-Salem over the last decade.
State's most difficult stretch of the season begins with Clemson on Halloween and is followed by road trips to Boston College and Florida State. The Pack was 0-3 against those teams in 2014. After that, the schedule again sets up for a potential strong finish, with Syracuse and UNC at home to end the regular season.
