NC State has added a few transfers to the roster this semester, including one-time NCSU commit Ford Howell. Howell, originally a class of 2013 member, flipped from State to Wake Forest in the summer of 2012. He redshirted there before moving on to junior college.
Howell, who is now a redshirt junior, was a consensus three-star prospect coming out of high school and tallied 67 tackles at Iowa Western Community College in 2014. He is listed on State's roster at 6-1 and 243 pounds.
Made a mistake ever decommitting. So happy and blessed to be back with the back @PackFootball pic.twitter.com/Ss1XRN5kNR

NC State has a lot of needs at the linebacker position, as both Brandon Pittman and Rodman Noel have exhausted their eligibility. Noel was third on the team in tackles, Pittman ninth. State will welcome back M.J. Salahuddin into the fold--he missed 2014 because of injury--but as was the case last year, needs whatever depth it can find. It remains to be seen where Howell will fit in.
NC State also added a pair of quarterbacks to increase the amount of depth and competition at that position: Jordan Dawson (former Wolfpack standout Lin Dawson's son), and Will McCollister.
Dawson is a 6-1, 190-pound transfer from NC A&T, where he spent a couple of seasons. The redshirt sophomore did not see the field in either year. McCollister is originally from Ironton, Ohio (now that is an Ohio town name right there) and listed at 6-4, 210. I don't know much about McCollister other than his Twitter account is entertaining.
Seeing a guy getting a breathalyzer test next to a four wheeler is the most southeast Ohio thing I've seen in a while.

Can't be certain but since he's from Ohio I think he's probably going to be as good as Braxton Miller, J.T. Barrett, and Cardale Jones all rolled into one and multiplied by 100.
