College football win total over/unders were released by 5 Dimes on Tuesday, giving us an early look at how the sharps are evaluating the field. NC State's over/under is set at 7.5, which I believe is a couple wins higher than the preseason O/U last year.
Based on the moneylines, 5 Dimes sees State going under as the more likely outcome (-135). The moneline is set at -105 for the over.
Florida State not surprisingly is at the top of the field in the ACC with an O/U win total set at 9.5. Only a handful of other college football teams have O/Us at 10 wins or more. Here's the entire ACC:
ACC | Wins over/under |
Florida State | 9.5 |
Clemson | 8.5 |
Virginia Tech | 8 |
UNC | 8 |
NC State | 7.5 |
Georgia Tech | 7.5 |
Louisville | 7.5 |
Duke | 7 |
Pittsburgh | 6 |
Boston College | 5.5 |
Miami | 5.5 |
Syracuse | 5 |
Virginia | 4.5 |
Wake Forest | 3.5 |
Nobody can quit you, North Carolina, though the odds are on UNC finishing under that eight-win total. Bet at your peril because who knows!
The ACC finished 2014 with 11 bowl-eligible teams and has a good chance of hitting that number again, it seems. Miami's O/U seems low, but Canes also have an underachievement problem of late.
So, you takin' the over on NC State or the under? These over/unders are for regular season games only.
