Hello, and good morning, it's football season. We made it through another arduous offseason; let's give ourselves a round of applause. Feels good, man. This is game week. Game weeeeeeeeek even though it's Troy tho game weeeeeeeeeeeeeeek.
On Thursday the first FBS games of the year begin (the first FCS game of the year, between Montana and ND State this past Saturday, was an instant classic). I am told there is some dull matchup Thursday between South Carolina and an area junior college whose name escapes me. But you can't expect all the matchups to be great right off the bat.
Not that it really matters, because it's actual real football that counts, and that's enough.
Not only am I ready for some football, I'm ready for tailgating with friends and family, and for beers, and for the visceral pregame buzz inside of Carter-Finley Stadium. No telling what the season holds, but those things are constants, and that's what's important.
