Dave Doeren talks first day of NC State's fall camp

Hello and welcome back, football-type substance.

Rob Kinnan-USA TODAY Sports

Dave Doeren opened his third camp at NC State on Tuesday with the best roster he's had yet, which is precisely how these good ol' rebuildin' jobs are supposed to work. It was a non-contact workout, as is standard for the early stages of camp, with players practicing in helmets and no pads.

Doeren answered some media questions when it was over. Pack Pride has the transcript.

How does it feel to see more players that you recruited taking on presumably the identity you want this program to have?
At this point, they are all mine. Even if I didn't recruit them, they are mine. They are a good group of guys and I love them all. You want to see guys that you have brought into the program come into practice, there is no doubt, but I am just as excited to see the senior class as I am the freshmen.

Here's Joe Giglio's article from day one of practice, and GoPack.com served up some brief video highlights:

There aren't really any major notes this early in camp, so these'll have to do: Doeren sounds set with Alex Barr and Tyler Jones at the offensive tackle spots, and Nyheim Hines worked with the wide receivers and got in some work returning punts.
