Typically this early in the season, the early-to-mid-afternoon slate of games is not great. That's certainly true for Week 1 of 2015, which is a showcase of tomato can after tomato can. The only contest between power-conference teams that starts during the noon hour is Stanford-Northwestern. You can also watch such football teams as Colgate, Norfolk State, and Tennessee-Martin.
One to keep an eye on: South Dakota State at Kansas. While not quite so prominent as the Dakotans to their north, SDSU has a solid program, and that team could easily end up picking off Kansas. This would be amusing, though KU may render the whole affair unwatchable.
At 3:30, we've got Louisville-Auburn and Nebraska-BYU, giving us some of the first real intrigue of the afternoon. UVA is also on the road at UCLA, while Penn State-Temple could prove to be a tight one.
Wisconsin-Alabama headlines the night games, but I'm more looking forward to the matchup between Arizona State and Texas A&M. I'm also curious to see how our pals from Georgia Southern fare on the road against West Virginia.
Monday night, Virginia Tech hosts Ohio State. I dunno what we're going to get from that game, but I do know for sure it's going to be loud.
