NC State sunk in both major polls following its 35-14 loss at Notre Dame but remains in the top 20 for the fourth straight week. The Wolfpack dropped from No. 14 to No. 20 in the AP Poll and from No. 15 to No. 19 in the Coaches Poll. Notre Dame moved into the AP top five but isn’t getting much love from the Coaches, where the Irish are only No. 8. (And ranked behind Miami, which, c’mon man.)
The Wolfpack will, of course, have the opportunity to shoot right back up into the top 15 by upsetting Clemson this weekend. More importantly, that’s a game that may end up deciding the Atlantic Division. It’s a little easier getting over Saturday’s loss knowing that it had no bearing whatever on the ACC championship race. So at least there’s that.
Hopefully the guys can quickly get over what happened in South Bend. It was a gravy game and it ended poorly. Oh well. Bigger things lie ahead.
