We have been clamoring and clamoring for a big-time win from Dave Doeren; NC State had been close in the last couple years but never did close the deal. Here in 2017, Doeren’s Wolfpack has beaten Florida State and Louisville in the span of a couple weeks. All complaints on this front have been retracted. Now we’re having fun.
After beating Louisville, NC State is now the only undefeated team in the Atlantic other than Clemson. As deflating as that Week 1 loss to South Carolina might have been, it also hasn’t stopped State from realizing a potentially huge season.
And State was obviously better than Louisville on Thursday night, which is something very much worth noting—not even Lamar Jackson’s standard outstanding performance was enough to overcome the Wolfpack. State has probably the second-best quarterback in the ACC, and its offense has myriad weapons, and we have Jaylen Samuels, and we are through both FSU and Louisville.
Hang on tight.
