NC State’s bowl destination is official: the Wolfpack is being sent to the Sun Bowl in El Paso, TX. That’s a difficult trip for State fans, and it’s made worse by the fact that the game is being played on a Friday (Dec. 29) in the middle of the afternoon (3 p.m. ET). Welp.
NC State’s opponent is not yet official, but it’ll most likely be Arizona State, per a report from Brett McMurphy. ASU finished the regular season 7-5 overall and is also in the middle of a coaching transition after the school fired Todd Graham and replaced him with (I’m trying not to laugh) Herm Edwards.
This trip is a bummer but at least we’ll get an opponent we wouldn’t ever see otherwise. See I’m trying to find the bright side in this whole thing. You wouldn’t think you’d have to search for the bright side of a game named after the sun, but here we are.
