Bradley Chubb, Jaylen Samuels, Cole Cook named to preseason watch lists

In case there’s any confusion about which college players to watch play football, the preseason watch lists are here to provide everyone the info they need. Okay not really.

Jaylen Samuels is on the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award (college player of the year), while Bradley Chubb is on the Chuck Benarik Award list (defensive player of the year). Cole Cook has made the Mackey Award preseason list, and that award goes to the nation’s top tight end.

I doubt any of the three would be considered frontrunners for those awards, but hey, the recognition is nice. I’m still waiting on the Maxwell Award folks to change the name to the Samuels Award. Not sure what’s taking so long with that.

Samuels and Chubb will be representing the Wolfpack at the ACC’s annual football media days event, which begins later this week.
