Kentavius Street ranked one of college football’s elite athletic freaks by Sports Illustrated

He’s strong.

NC State defensive lineman Kentavius Street has put up some of the best workout numbers of anyone on the Wolfpack roster for several years, and now he’s getting some national attention for it. Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman recently compiled his list of college football’s top 40 workout warriors, and Street checks in at No. 3.

This is rather impressive:

This spring Street, at 6’2”, 283 pounds, was timed in the 40 at 4.58 and 4.62. And Burnette says those 40 times are electronic times—not hand-timed. Street vertical jumped 40 inches, broad jumped 9’11”, cleaned 400 and bench pressed 475 pounds. He is the most flexible guy in the NC State program, and despite his weight, he has the kind of agility where he could stand up and play outside linebacker, says Burnette, himself a former first-team All-ACC linebacker.

Some high praise there from strength and conditioning coach Dantonio Burnette, too. Street as an outside linebacker is a frightening thought. Not for us, obviously; for us it’s a great thought. Gonna be a long year for opposing offensive lines this fall.

Just you go and read the entire blurb on Street and try not to get excited about the 2017 Wolfpack. I triple dog dare you. It can’t be done. You cannot avoid getting excited, it is inevitable. Shoot, my mind has already attributed superhuman skills to Street, such as being able to cartwheel down the field faster than Lamar Jackson can run.
