NC State slides down to No. 22 in AP and Coaches polls

Seems fair.

NCAA Football: North Carolina State at Clemson Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

Despite the debacling at the hands of Clemson on Saturday, NC State remains ranked in both major human polls, though the Wolfpack not surprisingly fell quite a bit in both. State is No. 22 in the Coaches Poll and No. 22 in the AP Poll this week.

The Pack came into the weekend ranked 15th in the Coaches Poll and 16th in the AP.

State should be a favorite in all of its remaining games, which will give it the opportunity to finish the season with an impressive ranking—this is assuming that NC State wins the games it should down the stretch, of course. The upcoming road game against Syracuse might be the toughest contest left on the schedule.

But there are other potential hiccup spots ahead, and we don’t know yet how NC State will respond to its first loss of the season. There was a lot riding on the Clemson game, but maybe the disastrous nature of that contest will help the Pack get over it more quickly. We can hope.
