NC State rises into top 20 in both major polls

Movin’ on up.

With another win in hand, NC State not surprisingly is up in both polls, with the coaches being the most impressed by the Wolfpack’s 28-23 win over Boston College. NC State moved up from No. 25 to No. 19 in that poll. The Pack is up from 23 to 20 in the AP Poll.

If you’d like the breakdown of the media votes this week, you can find that here. Our AP voter hero of this week is Jim Alexander of the Press-Enterprise in Riverside, CA. Not a homer, just a believer, baby. Er, maybe. Anyway Jim voted NC State at No. 7 on his ballot.

He seems to be giving double extra credit to all the unbeaten teams regardless of schedule, as he’s stacked all eight unbeaten power-conference schools at the top of his ballot and chosen an order from there. Hey, that IS a voting philosophy. Not sure it’s a good one, mind you, but hey.

NC State’s next opponent, Clemson, checks in at No. 4 in both polls.
