NC State closes out regular season with 58-3 walloping of East Carolina

That was fun!

East Carolina’s players didn’t have much interest in playing a game today, that much was obvious. NC State rolled up over 650 yards of offense on Saturday, which is the second-highest total in school history, and left no doubt on the way to a 58-3 victory.

So many statistics and highlights! Where do we even begin here. How about with Garrett Bradbury’s fat guy touchdown in the second half:

Look at how excited he is about that touchdown. I’m glad circumstances worked out and he was able to have that moment. Bradbury has definitely earned it. Also, nice celebratory punt into the stands, Terronne.

This contest was every bit as lopsided as the score suggests. East Carolina managed a smidge over a 100 yards of total offense and had only four first downs. The Pirates were held scoreless until kicking a field goal as time expired. It was about as ugly a performance that you’ll see out of an FBS team.

Ryan Finley threw for 409 yards and three touchdowns, while Reggie Gallaspy piled up more than 200 yards on the ground. Jakobi Meyers led all receivers with 13 grabs for 163 yards and a touchdown. It was a good day for padding the stats.

NC State will await its bowl fate now. The Pirates are probably just happy to be heading home after such a rough season.
