NC State gets blown out by Texas A&M in the Gator Bowl

A poor second-half mounted.

It’s hard to admit in the moment, but it takes a little time to vacate the responsibility that is necessary to just shout at the heavens, “dammit, these people are as good at football as us and I’m worried.” God that’s annoying. Real bother. Bugs the hell out of you.

There’s nothing more annoying in sports than the slow melt of they-are-better-than-us. The luck is a bother; if that guy who got lucky is fortunate, then cool, because screw that guy, he sucked anyhow.

When that same outfit makes stuff work by just being better than you, by out-scrambling, out-bothering, out-talenting you, it scalds. I have no rejoinder here, this is simply how this shit works. It leads to bummer days like this one. Oh well. You have to deal with these breaks, and there’s no way around them.

State had a fine year, it was perfectly fine, and State has won nine games in two straight seasons, and if that bothers you, then you are welcome, pal, to make your addition to the angry-about-NC-State-football society here in the final minutes of 2018.

It’s a significant disappointment. There was time; it didn’t work.

I hope y’all have a great new year, and we’ll see you during baseball season. A&M picked this one up, 52-13. This is the shit that happens; oh well.
