National Signing Day is off to a good start for NC State, which got the news early Wednesday that defensive end Derrick Eason would be sticking with the Wolfpack. Eason, a three-star defensive end from Norfolk, VA, was seriously considering Notre Dame and was thought to be an Irish lean up until Tuesday afternoon.

Eason committed to NC State in July but opted not to sign his letter of intent during the new December signing period. Notre Dame offered him late and got him on campus in January, but ultimately that was not enough to sway him to sign with the Irish.
Eason is listed at 6’4 and 240 pounds by 247Sports and is a consensus three-star prospect in the 2018 class. He is the No. 25 prospect in Virginia.
Eason is the fourth prospect listed at DE to sign with NC State in this cycle. State is now just waiting on 4-star cornerback Taiyon Palmer, who’ll make a decision this afternoon.
