Since declaring for the NFL Draft, NC State running back Nyheim Hines has done anything to damage his stock, and he impressed with his speed at the Combine, Not surprisingly, Hines has a lot of teams interested in drafting him this week, and according to Fan Rag Sports’ Jon Ledyard, there’s a pretty good chance Hines ends up in the second round.
The San Diego Chargers and Minnesota Vikings are two of the interested parties with picks in that range, along with the Cowboys and Bengals, per Ledyard. (Would be pretty cool to see Hines playing alongside Philip Rivers.)
If this ends up being the range where Hines is drafted, then it’ll prove that he made the correct decision to skip his final college season. It would be tough to dramatically improve on that stock with another year at NC State, and anyway why risk more injuries. There’s good money to be had for the guys taken in the second or third rounds.
