We’re barely a week away from NC State’s home opener against James Madison, and it is hard to contain the excitement. I’m dancing as I write this post. Okay, that’s not true, it would be extremely difficult to dance and write at the same time. What was I talking about? Oh, yeah, football:

That’s some fine respect there, coach. Thank you for this perfunctory application of respect.
James Madison will be an interesting test case: the Dukes have legitimate FBS talent in a lot of places, but they are making the transition to a new quarterback. They were run-heavy even with a quarterback they trusted, and you can expect them to lean on the run game even as they supposedly run a spread offense.
NC State will win next weekend, but what will the team learn? That’s the important part for the rest of the season. Don’t get me wrong, the JMU game is not going to be easy—so the takeaways fom it will be crucial.
