Not everybody’s healthy here at the start of NC State’s fall camp, but hey this is football, what else is new. Dave Doeren provided a couple of injury updates after the first practice on Friday.
Defensive tackle Shug Frazier, who is expected to be a significant contributor to the Wolfpack defense come September, is still recovering from a nagging toe injury. This is the same injury that kept him out of the spring game and limited him in practices during that part of the offseason. Let’s hope this isn’t something that’s going to linger all year.
Nickel Stephen Griffin also has a foot injury, but he should be back on the practice field in the next week or so. Griffin sat at last season after transferring to NC State from Tennessee and will factor into the Pack’s two-deep at the nickel spot, barring a major surprise.
Please continue knocking on the nearest wood surface throughout camp.
