Virginia football has a pulse these days, or so I’ve heard, but the Cavaliers will still be significant underdogs when they come to Raleigh next weekend. NC State opened as an eight-point favorite over the Cavs, which would make the Pack almost a touchdown favorite on a neutral field.
UVA is 3-1 on the season and is coming off an easy 27-3 win at home over Louisville. The Cardinals appear to be the worst team in the ACC this season, but that’s a discussion for another time.
The Cavs have wins over Richmond and Ohio in addition to the aforementioned Cardinals, with the lone loss a close one at Indiana. While it’s not yet time for the Coastal or anyone else in the league to treat the Cavs like a significant problem, there’s no question that they are making strides in the right direction.
And I probably don’t need to remind you about the 2012 game, when they beat the motherloving crud out of Tom O’Brien’s last NC State team—in Raleigh.
