Chris Ingram suffered what appeared to be an injury to his right knee late in the first half against Syracuse and didn’t play the rest of the night. He was down in obvious pain so it was easy to fear the worst, but whatever the injury is, it is not of the season-ending variety.
Ingram is listed in his usual spot as a starter on NC State’s updated depth chart, which is indeed a relief, though Dave Doeren said on Monday that Ingram’s status for Boston College wasn’t clear at that point.
Chris Ingram’s on the depth chart, assume that the injury wasn’t as bad as it looked?
“We’re still waiting on a verdict on that. They are with the doctors today, with all our guys, for that matter. So we meet with Justin at 3:30. It hasn’t been ruled out yet. But we’ll see where we end up.”
(Dave is referring to head trainer Justin Smith, I assume.)
So we probably won’t know one way or the other on Ingram until game day. But the important thing is it looks like Ingram will be back on the field this season, and that seemed very much in doubt in the moment he went down.
Nick McCloud is once again absent from the depth chart this week, and the Wolfpack will also be without offensive tackle Justin Witt for another game.
