NC State opens as 3.5-point underdog to Louisville

Amazing how much can change in a year, isn’t it? When NC State traveled to Louisville in 2018, the Cardinals had just fired Bobby Petrino and were playing out the string on a lost season. The Cardinals got blown out in that game, as they did in quite a few games.

Fast forward to now, and the Cardinals come to Raleigh with a new coaching staff and some renewed purpose, and what do you know, they are the favorites to beat NC State.

Louisville needs only one more win to get bowl eligible and certainly will get there given what’s left on the schedule, and that’s a heck of an accomplishment for Scott Satterfield in his first season.

Satterfield has been able to implement an offense that has been maybe the most explosive unit in the ACC, helping to obscure the fact that Louisville’s defense has been pretty darn bad.

So maybe this will be an entertaining game, with both teams scoring a decent number of points? Maybe? Granted this does require NC State’s offense to cooperate. Hey, you never know.
