A trip around the conference to see how everyone’s doing. Where did this fire come from?

1. Clemson (last week: 55-10 W @ NC State); season record: 10-0 (7-0)

Unapologetically murdering teams on national TV.


2. Virginia Tech (last week: 36-17 W vs Wake Forest); season record: 6-3 (3-2)

Previous Rankings: 7, 11, 11, 12, 13, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4

Bud Foster’s defense was fantastic. Quite the in-season turnaround for Justin Fuente and Co. after looking dead early in the year. They control their own fate for a Coastal Division title now.

3. Miami (last week: 52-27 W vs Louisville); season record: 6-4 (4-3)

Previous Rankings: 9, 10, 6, 13, 6, 13, 12, 14, 7, 5

Just imagine had they not handed away wins to UNC, VT, and GT...

4. Wake Forest (last week: 17-36 L @ Virginia Tech); season record: 7-2 (3-2)

5. Pittsburgh (last week: BYE); season record: 6-3 (3-2)

Bet they’re pissed they didn’t get that Virginia game later in the year...


6. Louisville (last week: 27-52 L @ Miami); season record: 5-4 (3-3)

Previous Rankings: 11, 7, 10, 11, 11, 6, 2, 6, 4, 3

Dude, what was that?! Please let the Cards’ defense be actually that bad... Please!

7. Virginia (last week: 33-28 W vs Georgia Tech); season record: 7-3 (5-2)

Previous Rankings: 3, 2, 2, 5, 5, 3, 13, 4, 5, 6

This team is now just a win over VT away from getting slaughtered by Clemson.

8. Florida State (last week: 38-31 W @ Boston College); season record: 5-5 (4-4)

Previous Rankings: 10, 12, 9, 7, 9, 5, 4, 5, 3, 9

Odell Haggins has never lost as the head coach at Florida State.

9. Boston College (last week: 31-38 L vs Florida State); season record: 5-5 (3-4)

Previous Rankings: 4, 5, 13, 10, 8, 11, 7, 7, 11, 7

Basically took the 3rd quarter off and it cost them the game. Still rolled up over 500 yards of offense - and Dennis Grosel actually looked like a real, live QB for once!


10. North Carolina (last week: BYE); season record: 4-5 (3-3)

Bet Larry Fedora feels really dumb for not shifting Chaaazzzzzz over to LB earlier.

11. Duke (last week: 7-38 L vs Notre Dame); season record: 4-5 (2-3)

Previous Rankings: 13, 8, 5, 4, 2, 8, 11, 9, 10, 11

Got blown out at home versus a Notre Dame team that had looked incredibly vulnerable of late.

12. Georgia Tech (last week: 28-33 L @ Virginia); season record: 2-7 (1-5)

Previous Ranking: 14, 13, 14, 14, 14, 14, 14, 13, 13, 13

Showing signs of life, so they’re moving up.


13. NC State (last week: 10-55 L vs Clemson); season record: 4-5 (1-4)

Previous Rankings: 2, 4, 8, 8, 12, 10, 5, 11, 12, 12

Getting destroyed by Clemson has no shame tied to, but this team is really bad right now.

14. Syracuse (last week: BYE); season record: 3-6 (0-5)

Previous Ranking: 6, 14, 12, 6, 7, 9, 6, 12, 14, 14

As the only winless team in this horrible conference, this is where they get ranked.
