Some breaking news has just hit my desk here in the BTP newsroom: NC State junior wide receiver C.J. Riley is an extremely fast human. Sophomore running back Trent Pinnix and senior defensive end James Smith-Williams? Also of a fleet-footed nature.
Wolfpack strength coach Dantonio Burnette shared some of the team’s top 40 times on Tuesday evening:
Two days of testing in the & we had some guys clock some times. @IronWolfpack & I would like to say congrats to @jacsw3 for representing the (BIGS), Trent Pennix (BIG SKILL) & @CJ_Riley19 still holding it down for our (SKILL) group. #1Pack1Goal #AlphaSpeed #BodyByThunder pic.twitter.com/ly8d1lWEpz

Riley ran a laser-timed 4.39-forty and was timed by hand running a 4.33. I now have visions of Riley not only having a breakout season in 2019, but averaging 35 yards per catch.
Trent Pennix and James Smith-Williams some damn good numbers themselves, of course. Pennix will average 25 yards per carry and Smith-Williams is gonna have 40 sacks. Because speed is the one true variable, corresponding 110% to on-field performance, which is not impacted in any way by anything else. You can trust me, I am the football expert.
