Wolfpack ranked #22 in Pro Football Focus Preseason Top 25

Imagine that... an analytics-based ranking likes NC State better than human pollsters

Pro Football Focus released their Preseason Top 25 poll this week and have NC State coming in at #22 on the list. The Wolfpack are the second-highest ranked ACC school (after Clemson - no surprise), coming in one spot ahead of Syracuse and three ahead of Miami.

NC State was unranked in PFF’s initial preseason Top 25 rankings that were released back in May. Only Wisconsin (#21) was a previously unranked team that is currently ranked higher than the Wolfpack. The biggest mover from the May poll to this one is Michigan, which moved up from #18 to #8.

Syracuse fans are going to be salty, having dropped from #16 to #23. Virginia also dropped, going from #20 to unranked.
