ESPN doesn’t know ACC football

The “Worldwide Leader” puts together an all-time All-ACC team with some atrocious omissions

Torry Holt

In trying to drudge up some more talk over the ACC Network launch, ESPN decided to throw out an all-time All-ACC team. This was a terrible idea, and leads one to believe that the person(s) who created it never actually watched ACC football over the last several decades.

Here are the NC State players that made the list:

  • Ted Brown - RB, 1st Team
  • Jim Ritcher - OG, 1st Team
  • Torry Holt - WR, 2nd Team
  • Mario Williams - DE, 2nd Team
  • Garrett Bradbury - C, 3rd Team
  • Bradley Chubb - DE, 3rd Team

That’s it. You’ll probably notice a few glaring issues, most notably - HOW THE HELL IS TORRY HOLT ONLY A 2ND TEAMER, AND WHERE THE HELL IS PHILIP RIVERS?!?!

Okay, I’m sorry. I’m calm. I’m calm... It’s only that HOW DO YOU NOT PUT THE BEST WR IN ACC HISTORY ON THE 1ST TEAM AND HOW DO YOU NOT INCLUDE THE GREATEST QB IN ACC HISTORY ON ANY OF THE THREE TEAMS?!?!

Sorry, sorry. That got the best of me again.

There are other glaring issues... Greg Olsen being the 1st Team TE over Heath Miller (Virginia) or Nick O’Leary (FSU). Heck, O’Leary didn’t even make any of the teams.

This is just a poor effort. Y’all look for yourselves (or don’t and spare yourself the rage), and comment on the dumbness of it.
