Week 3 Football: What to watch

For the second straight week, we get no Thursday night college football. That’s a shame, an outrage, and I’m more than slightly sad about it. If you have to watch something, you can watch the Thursday night NFL game to see which of Jameis Winston (5) or Cam Newton (7) breaks their streak of consecutive losses as a starter. Bad NFL football! Yay!(?)

For the second straight week, we also get multiple Friday night games involving ACC teams - and thanks to Wake Forest, we’re 3-for-3 in that regard on the season. UNC-CH and Wake will square off in a non-conference game, so that’s fun. Boston College gets to earn an easy non-conference P5 win as they take on Kansas. If you’re staying up late, that Washington State @ Houston game should put up a ton of points.

There aren’t a lot of great Saturday game either, sadly, and one of the more interesting ones (K-State @ Mississippi Sate) is the same time as the NC State game. When Iowa @ Iowa State is your College Gameday selection, you know it’s a poor week.

Florida State @ Virginia will be interesting in the evening slate of games, while Hawaii plays at a non-insomniac hour as they look to take down their third straight P5 opponent (Arizona, Oregon State) to start the year.
