NC State heads into a week as the underdog for the first time in 2019—and with the way the Wolfpack is playing right now, I don’t think anybody is going to quibble with Vegas’ assessment of NC State’s chances in Tallahassee. The Seminoles are a 5.5-point favorite.
The Seminoles have had their own problems this season, and at this point it’s not clear who will be their starting quarterback this weekend, but are they better than NC State at this point? Yeah, I think that’s safe to say.
They’ve improved substantially on the offensive side of the ball—it would have been difficult for them to do otherwise—and they came close to knocking off Virginia on the road in Week 3.
It’s the best offense NC State will have seen to date, though the defense has been plenty mortal. Theoretically, the Pack can put up a decent point total on that defense, but with that second half against Ball State fresh in my mind, somehow scoring negative points seems more likely.
