Good news and bad for NC State on the personnel front this week—right tackle Justin Witt is back on the depth chart after missing the Pittsburgh game, but nickel Tyler Baker-Williams will miss his second straight game. Baker-Williams is in quarantine per contract tracing protocol, and has been since last Thursday.
Contract tracing requires a player to be isolated for two weeks. So at least it’s not an injury, and Baker-Williams should be available for Duke.
Rakeim Ashford and Khalid Martin also are not listed on the updated depth chart as they continue to recover from injuries. We’ll see if anything changes on game day, but likely NC State will need another patchwork effort from the back end of its defense. Let’s hope that goes a little better this time. State got away with one last week in winning despite allowing over 400 yards through the air.
At least the team has proven it can overcome these shortcomings with offense, which would have been a ridiculous notion a year ago.
