After notching their most impressive road win since 2017, NC State hits the road for the third straight week to take on the Virginia Cavaliers. The Wahoos are coming off an 18-point loss to Clemson a week ago, but did post an 18-point win over Duke in their season opener.
Will the Wolfpack ride to victory the confidence gained from posting a pair of 4th quarter, come-from-behind conference wins in 2020? Or will the Cavaliers rebound from last week’s loss to hand NC State their second loss in three weeks in the state of Virginia?
Each BTP contributor provides their score prediction below, plus a quick blurb on their predicted outcome. Here we go!

Prediction: 34-27 (W)
Comment: “Normally I wouldn’t pick State to win back to back road games, but ACC teams have an extremely low win percentage the week after getting trounced by Clemson... UVA played Clemson last week.“
Why is this so hard?
Prediction: 33-28 (W)
Comment: “Leary continues to look like the real thing; defense gives up a career day to Armstrong but makes a big play at the end to preserve the W.“
no23sports
Prediction: 31-34 (L)
Comment: “The Pack defense struggles early to stop UVA leading to an early lead for the Hoos. The Pack offense has to play catch-up all day and comes up just short in its rally.“
Steven
Prediction: 24-20 (W)
Comment: “Seems a lot to ask for State to win consecutive road games against a superior opponent, but what the hell, it’s a weird year.“
JEOHankins2
Prediction: 28-34 (L)
Comment: “Running game performs better than Pitt, but Leary doesn’t produce as much as last game. UVA’s QB picks up a lot on the ground, and State can’t take advantage of his mistakes through the air.“
AlecLower
Prediction: 34-41 (L)
Comment: “Both offenses will play well but Virginia’s will play slightly weller“
WROncsu
Prediction: 31-20 (W)
Comment: “Positivity train is back! Devin Leary for NFL HoF.“
PirateWolf
Prediction: 34-33 (W)
Comment: “UVA moves the ball well, but D forces them to settle for 4 FGs, which - again - is the difference. State running game gets back on track“
BTP Staff Cumulative Prediction: 31-30 (W)
