Happy Thanksgiving, BTP family!
A kinda depressing day of Thanksgiving football, what with the Ravens @ Steelers game getting postponed. That was pretty much the only good football game on the docket for the day. 2020 strikes again!
Friday should be a great day of turkey hangover football. Iowa State @ Texas is a good start to the day, while a pair of PAC 12 rivalry games (there are a lot of rivalry games this week) will serve as the back-end to the day. In between, a Notre Dame team that sits at the top of the ACC standings and firmly in the College Football Playoff picture will be in the Triangle to take on the degree printing factory over in Chapel Hill. Let’s go, Irish!
In the noon Saturday slot, all eyes will be on the Wolfpack’s road trip north to Syracuse. Go State!
Not that you’ll necessarily be watching it, but who would have thought a Penn State - Michigan matchup would have a combined record of 2-8? Crazy. If Penn State wins, you have to wonder how much longer Jim Harbaugh can survive at Michigan. I’m assuming James Franklin gets a pass this year at Penn State, but they have to beat Rutgers and Michigan State to end the season... right?
The Iron Bowl (Auburn vs Alabama) is in the mid-day slot, as well the Egg Bowl (Ole Miss vs Mississippi State). Maybe we’ll see a player act like a dog peeing again this year! Who knows! Although if anyone in that contest is going to do it this year, my money would be on Mike Leach. No wait - it’s on Lane Kiffin. No wait... ah, crap. This is why the house always wins!
The Saturday evening slate is underwhelming, to say the least. They’ll probably be a lot of channel surfing until we find a decent one of the group.
Enjoy shoving your face with food, y’all! And be sure to take some time to be thankful for all the good things in life, like family, friends, and Wolfpack wins!
